Last Tuesday, the 5th, EL PERIÓDICO reported on the request pink pear tree, ‘the murderer of the Urban Police’, that the Netflix premiere of the series ‘The Body on Fire’ was paralyzed, considering that this fictional series about her case distorts her image. The Court of Justice of Catalonia did not accept the request.

The series has just premiered. Six chapters. Úrsula Coberó embodies Pink. His accomplice in the murder, also the Urban Guard Albert, plays him Quim Gutierrez. I have swallowed the six chapters at once, with notable effort because I think that with three or four there would have been enough. The production company, Arcadia Motion Pictures, has very notable and prestigious works to its credit (‘As bestas’, ‘Mediterranean’, ‘There will be no peace for the wicked’…), but on this occasion its narrative work seems to have been shaped like a piece of gum, lengthening it excessively slowly. We previously knew about this case thanks to the always impeccable analysis of Carles Porta (‘Crims’ on TV-3, and also in Spanish on Movistar+ Plus). Now, this long fictional exercise, we could discuss it. But the most burning thing about this matter is that it has led to a new role for the sentenced and imprisoned woman. pink pear tree. From jail she has protested. «That’s not me!» she comes to tell us, angrily. Although her claim has not been addressed judicially, she raises an interesting question. Justice has already sentenced Pink. He has been in prison for six years and has 19 more to go. And she considers that, since she is already purging her crime, it is unfair that another additional sentence is added by television, with a series that, according to her, disfigures her personality. It is possible that Rosa Peral’s discomfort can be mitigated with money. In fact, Netflix has made a smart move: in addition to the series, it has simultaneously released the documentary, produced by Brutal Media, ‘The Tapes of pink pear tree‘. There, for the first time, we can see and hear the authentic Pink from jail. He says, in a tone of denunciation: «I have seen atrocities about myself on TV (…) The media has created the character that suited them: that of ‘the black widow’».

In this documentary, the self-critical testimony of the well-known crime journalist is significant. Carlos Quilez saying: “This case was not reported equidistantly. I did it myself, and I’m ashamed». A brave rarity.
