The municipality of Borger-Odoorn wants to sell the Smidswal in Exloo, the farm next to the town hall, to a party that wants to make rental housing for young people. The farm is currently empty.
“We want homes for young people who fall within the rent subsidy limit,” says alderman Henk Zwiep. The municipality is now working to find out under which preconditions the farm will be put up for sale. Previously, the farm housed youth work, among other things.
“We want to put this on the market as soon as possible,” said Zwiep. “And then candidates can register. We are thinking of five to six tenants.”
