The municipality of Emmen wants to tackle part of the town hall. This includes the council chamber and the offices of the aldermen and the mayor.
The public hall of the town hall has already been renovated, and the new project is a follow-up to that. The last time it was addressed was in 2001.
The reception and meeting room will be adapted, the offices will be redesigned and will receive new furniture, new lighting, new cabling and climate control.
The council chamber is also being modernized. The meeting format will be changed and audiovisual and technical resources will be introduced that can be used during debates and voting in the municipal council.
The mayor and aldermen are asking the municipal council for a loan of more than 2.7 million euros to make the renovation possible.
