Since the N34 was tackled on a large scale last year and redesigned near Klijndijk, according to provincial spokesman Willemijn van Maanen, much more traffic is driving on the Slenerweg towards the busy motorway. Although the municipality of Borger-Odoorn is the official owner of the road in Klijndijk, the province is responsible for the N34 and the new connection. “That’s why it’s so neat that the three of us are sitting around the table.”
