The municipality has these plans for the Burgemeester Vernède sports park

The Burgemeester Vernède sports park is one of the oldest parks in Zoetermeer. The greenery is outdated and sports clubs in the park want to renovate. That is why the park will have to be tackled.

The municipality will draw up an area vision for not only the sports park, but also for the area around it. It will be a mix of housing, greenery, sports and activity.

New sports hall and houses

The Vernède Park is a beautiful green park where you can enjoy a nice walk. There is a tennis and korfball club, a jeu de boules club and a skating rink. But also the old Era Contour office building opposite Nutricia, the former 2B-Home building and the De Driesprong sports hall that is to be demolished across the street. In addition, there is a large piece of undeveloped land on Paltelaan. All these locations will be included in that area vision.

The new plans include new-build homes, office space, a new sports hall and the existing sports clubs. The green character of the park will certainly be preserved.
