The 2006 version was directed by John Moore. Both films are scripted by him David Seltzer.
In the film, diplomat Robert Thorn and his wife Katherine face great grief when their first child is stillborn.
Robert decides to take up the priest’s offer and adopt the newly orphaned baby boy at his suggestion. The boy will be named Damien.
The family moves to London for Robert’s job.
Deaths and accidents begin to follow the boy as he grows up.
The parents take the boy to the zoo, and the animals go crazy. At Damien’s birthday party, his babysitter hangs herself.
Katherine’s mother is the first to doubt the boy’s innocence. Soon, Robert also believes his wife and is in contact with a priest, from whom he learns the horrible truth about his son.
