UAn enjoyable comedy even if only half successful. On Rai 1 – tonight at 9.30pm – goes on air The most beautiful daymovie set during a wedding where all sorts of things will happen. The protagonists are the Genoese comedy duo Luca and PaoloViolante Placido e Stefano De Martino in his first acting experience.
The most beautiful daythe plot of the movie
Aurelio (Paolo Kessisoglu) is an unhappy wedding planner which he has had for a long time a clandestine relationship with Serena (Valeria Bilello), his collaborator and wife of his friend Giorgio (Luca Bizzarri). The man would like to change his life once and for all, the opportunity presents itself to him while he organizes the wedding of Pier (Stefano De Martino) and Chiara (Fiammetta Cicogna). In fact, the bride’s father intends to take over the company if the ceremony goes swimmingly.
Obviously, because of the down-and-out group of collaborators of Aurelio, everything is going wrong. Starting from Adele (Violante Placido), vulgar, neurotic and very foul-mouthed. Billy is no exceptionfailed singer (Lodo Guenzi) who during the party discovers that the The bride is an ex of his. In short, what should have been a perfect day risks turning into a nightmare. For the spouses but above all for Aurelio.
The lackluster remake of a sparkling French comedy
Remake of C’est la vie – Take it as it comes by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache – at the cinema these days with A difficult year –, The most beautiful day it is his directorial debut by Andrea Zalonehistoric TV author and comic sidekick to Maurizio Crozza.
Unlike the French film – one of the most successful French comedies and popular in recent years –, even if retains the general structure of the transalpine script, flaw in confusing the waters and the viewer’s attention too much. With some lengthy scripts that they weigh down the pace of the film.
Net of some excellent interpretations – over all a surprising Stefano De Martino (actor for the first time) and an unreleased Violante Placido -, the comedy unfortunately suffers fromexcessive focus on the characters played by Luca and Paolo. Where Toledano and Nakache’s film had some of its strong points a perfectly orchestrated ensemble casthere the script seems tailor-made for the famous Genoese comedy couple. Sacrificing the potential of secondary characterslike the father of the bride (the always excellent Carlo Buccirosso).
The result is a comedy only half successful, which brings a few smiles but what it fails to stand out from the chaos of Italian productions. Where the only purpose, at times, seems to be solely that of exploit the strengths of some television faces. Without asking ourselves the problem of arousing curiosity in the public by dressing them in new clothes (and characters).

Stefano De Martino’s “first time” at the cinema
Former dancer, winner of Friends way back in 2009, in just over ten years it has become a multifaceted and transversal figure on the TV scene. Always at the center of attention also for his “on-off” marriage with Belen Rodriguezcelebrated in 2013, crowned by the birth of his son Santiago, and definitively concluded a few months ago.
After his first exploits as a dancer in many Mediaset programmes, Stefano has abandoned dance and a career as a presenter. It was thesent for The island of the famous hosted by Alessia Marcuzzi in 2018 – with whom he apparently had a flirtation; and she now she is one of the leading faces of Rai 2 with Made in the South, everything is possible tonight And Bar Stella. Ironic, fresh and innovative programs which allow him to express all his creativity.
After the recent media storm – the betrayals revealed by Belen on Domenica in –, Stefano is even more focused on his own upcoming projects. That is to say the transmission From Christmas to Boxing DayChristmas show which will be broadcast on December 26th in prime time on Rai 2. AND the theater tour Better tonight! which from the end of December until next March will take to stages throughout Italy.
