How did the company come about?
My name is Natalia Novaro, I am a Psychologist with perinatal training and specialized in grief.
In 2010, I had a personal experience that marked my life. For this reason, I began a path of deep learning about grief support.
From this intense personal search and professional training arises the desire to create a space to disseminate content on gestational and perinatal grief. It began as a space on social networks and since 2017 it has been a Family Support Network called “With the Moon as a Cradle.”
What services do you provide?
I dedicate my clinical work to supporting people who are going through any type of grief, and especially those who suffer arrest during pregnancy or whose babies die during childbirth or the first years of life.
I receive inquiries in person and virtually.
I coordinate groups of families who are going through this pain. We have in-person and virtual meetings to which families from all over the country and other Spanish-speaking countries join.
In relation to the health teams, offering advice, training and reflection sessions and even making available a Memory Box that is used at the time of farewell and which is a very favorable element for the symbolic inscription of grief.
The talks offered to health teams, like the training, are intended to have a link between the experiences of the families that I collect from my clinical experience and the teams’ own journey. The latter are also affected because their training prepares them to find life and not death so early.
What are the next actions to achieve?
We will continue to make the issue visible with the intention of psycho-educating the general population on the importance of validating this type of grief and carrying out public actions. It is a symbolic possibility of continuing to present these babies who left early.
Every October 15, when the World Day of Gestational Grief is commemorated, we also proceed to illuminate important buildings to give a sign that this is an issue that urgently needs to be addressed with love and respect. These families need social validation for their pain.
What sets you apart from others?
With the moon as a cradle it is not a place of refuge, a warm space where you can stop and heal. It offers a hopeful look, which does not deny the pain, but which accompanies its journey with the clear idea that then we must connect again with life and all its colors.
Without a doubt, it seeks to be a healthy and safe space where health team professionals find beyond advice that their emotions are also housed and validated.
