The Ministry of Justice has developed a draft law on the creation of a register of non-payers of alimony brought to administrative and criminal liability, informed the press service of the Federation Council following the meeting of Senator Vladimir Poletaev with the director of the Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP).
“It is proposed to include in the register of debtors for alimony obligations information about alimony debtors brought to administrative and criminal liability, as well as those who are wanted,” the statement says.

The bill also provides for vesting the bailiff-executor with the right to demand the provision of information about the property status of the debtor.
In March 2021, the Ministry of Justice proposed introducing criminal liability for those who do not pay child support in full. Now such a tough measure is provided only for persistent defaulters with large debts.
At the end of April of that year, the Supreme Court listed good reasons for non-payment of alimony. These included illness, salary delays, bank errors when calculating money, military service.
