In Russia, a shortage of products in retail is not expected, the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade told RBC.
“Due to the surge in sales, inventories for some non-durables have declined slightly. However, with the extinction of demand, the reserves for these goods will be promptly replenished to the usual indicators – 30 or more days of trading,” the press service explained.
The department indicated that in the conditions of increased demand, interruptions occur, they are associated with the operational restructuring of supply channels. However, as the press service explained, if some products are not available at this moment, this means that they are on the way and will appear on the shelves within a few hours.

“Unfortunately, in a number of regions cases have already been recorded when socially significant goods were purchased at a time in an obviously larger volume than necessary for private consumption (up to several tons) for subsequent resale,” the ministry added.
