The Ministry of Health ruled out the suspension of planned care for children and cancer patients

Medical institutions will provide planned assistance to children with oncological and oncohematological diseases, despite the pandemic. These include patients on hemodialysis, the Ministry of Health said.

“Children, as well as patients with oncological, oncohematological diseases, patients in need of renal replacement therapy, during the specified period, planned medical care should be provided in full – this issue is under special control of the Russian Ministry of Health,” the ministry said.

In addition, Russians will be able to receive discounted medicines, referrals for high-tech care and sanatorium treatment, and testing for COVID-19 without restrictions.

The Cabinet of Ministers allowed the heads of regions to temporarily suspend planned outpatient care due to the coronavirus, including medical examinations and all types of medical examinations. In this case, the authorities should organize remote monitoring of the condition of patients who are registered with dispensaries due to chronic diseases.

At the same time, citizens should receive emergency care for acute respiratory viral infections, influenza, pneumonia and coronavirus, the decree says. The decision on hospitalization in a day hospital will be positive if the facility has not been repurposed for COVID-19.

As soon as the situation in the region stabilizes, planned assistance should be resumed in full, the Ministry of Health noted.

Until February 14, the department must approve a temporary procedure for organizing and conducting an examination of the quality of medical care for patients with COVID-19. After that, the compulsory medical insurance fund must report the results of the examination to the government.
