The ministers outshine the ministers

Two ministers and two ministers have been seen this week in Barcelona. I saw the prime minister on Monday in La Casa de Libro where there was an overbooking as it had not been remembered for a long time. The book was presented The year of the pandemic (Peninsula) of the leader of the PSC and former minister, Salvador Illa. Almost no one was missing. Almost all of their people were there. Some because they esteem him and others because they already sniff power.

The proof that the former minister is an appreciated person are the heartfelt hugs that both he and Fernando Simón received the president of the Official College of Physicians of Barcelona, Jaume Padrós; and the epidemiologist, Antoni Trilla; or the presence of the minister, Josep Maria Argimon. The Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, He headed the socialist list together with President Montilla, Jaume Collboni, Núria Marín, Laia Bonet, Alicia Romero and Ana Maria Martínez. There was, of course, the Government delegate Maria Eugènia Gay, who this week received the Woman Business & Justice 2022 Award for her work in favor of Equality, and we also saw the deputy Ramon Espadaler as well as Josep Creuheres, Pere Navarro, Oriol Nolis or Joan Tapia.

The presentation consisted of a talk between Illa himself, Fernando Simón and the journalist Jordi Basté where the former minister showed himself as he is. In other words, a leisurely guy who never raises his voice or enters into controversy and always maintains that sobriety that characterizes him. He even avoided responding to Ayuso, who that same morning had charged at his book. Anyway. Not a word out of place. Of course, when he recalled the passage from the book of the day that 950 people died in the middle of the pandemic couldn’t hold back the tears. A deafening applause ended the excitement. Well, that, it follows that Salvador Illa is an appreciated person and now, on top of that, with electoral hopes. And, of course, some are already starting to make fun of him…

27th anniversary of Luz de Gas

None of those present at the Salvador Illa event subsequently traveled to the Gas light room. It was a shame because they had fun. The place managed by Fede Sardà celebrated that night its 27th anniversary with a wonderful concert by Rozalén. Yes, there are already more than 11,000 live performances. Almost nothing. Congratulations.

More ministers than councilors

The Liceu opened the season and was filled with ‘celebrities’. This time the mayor was not absent, which has a very intense agenda. He seems to be in the middle of the campaign and if his rivals get lost, he will repeat it again. At the Liceu she did not play at home and despite this she was seen surrounded by fans. The socialists know about the pull of Ada Colau and have already put the machinery in motion. So three ministers attended in addition to the incombustible Collboni and Gay. The point is that, between one thing and the other, the ministers Miquel Iceta, José Luis Escribá and Diana Morant, left the conselleras Garriga and Ciuró in the background. Well, that, that Colau goes to the top, but Collboni presses, and perhaps for that reason Ernest Maragall, there present, and to whom they say that the polls are on their side, has also put the batteries. Another of those present Xavier Trias, he is no less activated than the previous ones, but it is at the expense of his party becoming clear. By the way, there was the President Torra who went as unnoticed as Montilla. Impossible to cite all vips present, but we must highlight Judith Mascó, Vanesa Lorenzo, Rosa Clarà, or the director of this newspaper, Albert Sàez. Well, that, there was a show on stage and off it…

Tribute to Isidre Girones

The ‘Consell de savis’ of La Boquería paid a nice tribute to Isidre Gironés, founder of the restaurant Ca l’Isidre. The event was held in the market facilities and those present ended up tasting the characteristic ‘callos amb cigrons’ from Ca l’Isidre. Friends of the house such as Joan Manuel Serrat, Xavier Trias, Òscar Nebreda, Javier de las Muelas, Toni Falgueras, Josep Monje or Carles Vilarrubí, as well as his daughter Núria -another great chef-, the cook Josep Berenguer and the manager of La Boquería, Óscar Ubide. In short, a well-deserved tribute to the creator of this emblematic restaurant in the Raval district.
