The main battles in the central part of Mariupol ended, declared representative of the people’s militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Eduard Basurin on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
“The central part of the city – you can say that the main battles are over. They have now moved to the port and [на завод] Azovstal. We have already entered the port, we are slowly starting to defend this territory, and we are pushing them (the Ukrainian military. – RBC) into the industrial zone in Azovstal, ”he said.
Basurin spoke about “three pockets of resistance” in Mariupol

On April 1, Basurin spoke about three centers of resistance of the “militants” in Mariupol, most of which had gathered at the Azovstal plant. Two more parts remained in the city center and in the port. In total, there were about 4,000 Ukrainian soldiers in the outbreaks, he said.
