When the name Brabus is involved, talking about extreme preparations makes you smile, it’s normal. But there is extreme and extreme and in the case of the 900 model, based on the Mercedes-Maybach Gls 4Matic SUV (which already starts with a different gear compared to the classic Gls), we are really at monstrous levels. The car prepared by the famous German tuner delivers 888 hp thanks to a 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8 and boasts a carbon fiber body kit and bespoke interior. The Brabus 900 is based precisely on the Mercedes-Maybach Gls 600, which is the largest, most powerful, most luxurious and most expensive SUV in the Star range. It starts from 172 thousand euros, which easily becomes 200 thousand with some essential options for a Mercedes customer.

The aesthetic changes give further grandeur to the vehicle which is 521cm long, 196cm wide and 182cm tall. large. It also fitted 24-inch Brabus Monoblock M “Platinum Edition” forged alloy wheels, mated with XL Continental SportContact tires. The SUV can be lowered by an additional 25 millimeters, thanks to the optimized Brabus Airmatic suspension. As for the passenger compartment – which as always can enjoy total customization – the first model shows two-tone upholstery with fine leather, exposed carbon fiber around the dashboard and door panels, aluminum pedals and Brabus stitching on the backrests.

The 4-liter AMG base unit has been expanded with a new set of turbochargers, larger pistons, obviously increased bore and stroke, modified intake system, high performance stainless steel exhaust system and new software. Raised to 4.5 liters, the engine has an output of 888 hp and produces the monstrous maximum torque of 1,250 Nm in the vehicle. Power is sent to all four wheels – the 4Matic is Mercedes’ all-wheel drive system – through a nine-speed automatic transmission. The responsiveness is insane when you think of a two and a half ton vehicle: 0-100 km / h in 4.2 seconds. And the top speed is electronically limited to 320 km / h. It is obvious that consumption and emissions are just as out of the ordinary: in the city you have to think about 5 km per liter and the C02 reaches 273.5 g / km. The price?
