Australian Masterchef, which starts today, is Jock Zonfrillo’s swan song. The top chef, who had been a judge for a long time, died unexpectedly on May Day at the age of 46.
According to the original plan, Masterchef was supposed to start the day after Zonfrillo’s death. However, the presentation of the opening episode was postponed. It was also speculated whether the entire 15th production season will be seen in vain.
The season started as it did in Australia on May 7th and here it was three weeks later. Permission was requested from the Zonfrillo family to present the home chef competition, which gave it all their support. The cause of death of Zonfrillo, who was born in Scotland in 1976, is unknown. However, it is known that the police do not consider the death suspicious.
After the death, Zonfrillo was said to have suffered from various health concerns. He had colon cancer. In the past, he had spoken openly about his mental problems. He suffered from obsessive compulsive disorder and anxiety.
