Animal rights activists to Prince Charles: “It’s a medieval contraption”
Great lover of agriculture, Carlo immediately said he was a great supporter of the anti-methane maskbut in doing so he aroused the ire of Petathe international association that fights for the ethical treatment of animals, and other animal welfare organizations: “It is an inhuman and cruel device” was their immediate comment.
The innovative mask that prince Charles likes
The cutting edge device was developed by scientists from the London company Zelp (Zero Emission Livestock Project) to limit the methane gas emitted by cattle during exhalation by up to 60 percent, thereby reducing air pollution. A single cow can, in fact, emit up to 500 liters of methane per day.
The doubts of Carlo, immediately reassured
Prince Carlo was satisfied with the explanations offered by the makers of the device. “Doesn’t that stop the cow from breathing?” he asked worriedly during his visit to the creators of the project, who assured him: the mask is comfortable for the animal and has been designed taking into account its well-being, it does not limit its movements and eating habits, nor does it alter its behavior within the herd.
There Peta to Carlo: focus on vegan farming practices!
“This mask is a cruelty towards the animal”, however, answered Elisa Allen, director of the Peta. “Our future king would do better to focus on vegan farming initiativeswhich are much more good not only for animals, but also for our arteries and the entire planet ».
