Marvel actor Jonathan Majors was found guilty on Monday to the abuse of his ex-girlfriend.
A jury found that Majors, 34, assaulted his then-girlfriend, a British choreographer By Grace Jabbar attacked during an argument in March.
Jabbari told the court that at the end of the argument, he received numerous injuries, such as a broken finger, bruises and a wound in the head area.
The assault took place in March in New York, when Jabbari saw a text message sent by another woman on Majors’ phone while the couple was on a car trip.
– I wish I could kiss you right now, the message reportedly read.
According to prosecutors, the assault occurred after Majors had taken his phone back from Jabbar. In the situation, Majors twisted Jabbar’s arm behind his back and then punched Jabbar in the head.
Jail threatens
A jury in a New York trial found Majors guilty of two of four counts of assault.
Majors was found guilty of assault causing bodily harm and harassment.
In June, Majors countersued, alleging that Jabbari attacked Majors in a jealous rage. However, the counterclaim fell due to a lack of evidence.
Majors could face up to a year in prison, and his starring role in future Marvel movies is at stake. Majors’ final sentence will be decided in February.
After Majors’ arrest, Marvel decided to postpone the upcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty -film in which Majors was to play the lead role.
Also starred by another Majors, Magazine Dreams -film, it was decided to postpone the release due to allegations of abuse.
