AC Oulu improved its position in the Veikkausliiga, when the team won its fifth consecutive victory. This time, IFK Mariehamn fell away with 2–1 goals.
AC Oulu’s victory was guaranteed by a pair of radars Rasmus Karjalainen and Luquinhas, who both buried the ball into the goal. He was responsible for the home team’s only goal Mikko Sumusalo.
Mariehamn’s unlucky warrior was a Brazilian today De, who picked up two yellow cards within five minutes. De received the first card for foul play after a penalty shot by Karjalainen.
Only minutes later, De came to knock Oulu Noah Pallasta for the feet worth a yellow card. With the second yellow card, De had to take a shower in time, and Mariehamn had to play the entire second half with a manpower deficit.
Restoration of discipline
Indiscipline has been Mariehamn’s Achilles heel this season. The red card was the team’s Fifth this season in the Veikkausliiga, when only 14 matches have been played. De, on the other hand, has already picked up 9 yellow cards this season.
Mariehamn is currently last in the standings. There is two points behind the second-last Haka. Oulu, on the other hand, is on a good run, and the team is fourth in the standings. HJK, which is in third place, is only one point ahead of the Oulu team, having played one game more.
