The story of “The Mandalorian” is coming to the big screen. Disney and Lucasfilm have a film for the Disney+ series from the world of “Star Wars” announced. The focus here will also be on the eponymous soldier and Grogu, who has become known as “Baby Yoda”, a toddler from the Yedi master’s species.

So far the film is simply called “The Mandalorian & Grogu”, and production starts later this year.
The film is directed by Jon Favreau, who also directed “The Mandalorian”. “I loved telling stories from the rich world of George Lucas,” Favreau said when announcing the new project. “The prospect of bringing The Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the cinema is very exciting.”
Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni, who were also involved in the original, are also producing the film. A release date is not yet known. There are also no confirmations about the cast.
In the series, the titular character is played by Pedro Pascal. “The Mandalorian” concluded its third season almost a year ago. What will happen next with the series is still unclear.
