A Metallica Lego set has been officially submitted to the “Lego Ideas” platform – a portal where potential Lego building projects are presented and – if there is enough support – sent to Lego itself. If enough support comes together, the ideas can then be considered as a realistic, buildable set.
Metallica has arrived in the Lego world
The Metallica set features the stage setup from the “M72 Seasons” tour, including the giant barrel-shaped screens and black and yellow color theme. The project idea also features James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Rob Trujillo in full Lego form. The set includes 2,972 pieces.
User “MetalliBrick,” who designed and presented the idea, explains, as “Loudersound” reports: “Like many Metallica fans worldwide, I was fascinated by the images and videos I saw online of the massive stage and towers , which featured amazing videos and dazzling lights.”
“Everything about it was a challenge!” adds MetalliBrick, especially referring to his construction of the prototype. “The round stage, the different heights and towers (or as I called them for many months: screen things). I decided to amplify these challenges by limiting myself to a 48×48 baseplate to ensure it wouldn’t be too large to display.”
From idea to reality: This is how you can support the project
If you would like to support the design, you can submit the ideas petition here sign. The set needs 10,000 signatures to be presented to Lego itself.
