The long days of mile-eater Van Baarle: ‘It took a while before they understood that at Ineos’ | Sport

In Dylan van Baarle’s celibate cycling life, there is hardly any room for excess. Rest, regularity, cleanliness and a strict training regime. Van Baarle has no problem with the sacrifices a cycling professional has to make. But all the more he enjoys in the winter. During the few weeks after the season that are not dominated by the bicycle.

For example, a visit to the Amsterdam Dance Event has been a tradition for years. His friendship with Fabio Jakobsen goes back to ADE in 2015. ,,Fabio wasn’t with us the last time, but it was really cool. Didn’t get a corona either, so that’s always a bonus. Reinier Zonneveld’s performance (techno DJ, ed.) was great. He did a ten-hour live show in the Ziggo Dome, I was there for nine hours. What we cyclists do is special. But how about ten hours behind the turntables? Just concentrated on those buttons. That was impressive to see.”
