Apple’s new iPhone models will be released next month. The date has not been confirmed, but Microbit guesses for this to happen on September 12th.

It is rumored that the new iPhones will also receive the long-awaited charging update, where the old lightning cables will change to Usb-c models. The European Union has also demanded that Apple harmonize its charging methods with other electronic devices.

– Devices that are not compatible with common charger models are not allowed on the EU market, the Commissioner responsible for the internal market of the European Union Thierry Breton stated.

Previously, it was rumored that Apple’s charging reform would be left to the last minute by the company and USB-c charging would only come in the iPhone 17 model. Now, however, it would seem that more uniform charging cables would be included in the models released for Apple phones already in the fall.

AppleInsider says that Apple leaker Kosutam said that the charging cables of the iPhone 15 Pro model would be 1.5 meters long and would be covered in fabric.

If you don’t see the embed, you can watch it from here.

According to Kosutami, the charger cables should come in the same colors as the phones.

Appleinsider speculates that longer fabric-covered cables would increase the delivery costs of the phones, which would presumably affect the price of the phones as well.

Apple’s last deadline for renewing chargers in the EU is at the end of 2024.
