French ex-footballer Bruno Rodriguez has lost its leg, NTV reports.

Rodriguez, 50, who had turned 50 this year, had to be amputated due to constant pain. The pain is said to be the “late effect” of a football career.

Because of the pain, Rodriguez’s life was a daily affair, so amputation was ultimately the only sensible option.

The attacker ended his career as a professional in 2005 at the age of only 32 due to persistent ankle problems.

Paris Saint-Germain released a tweet to send his support to his former player.

– Paris Saint-Germain sends support to former striker Bruno Rodriguez, his family and loved ones in this difficult ordeal. The club gives its full strength and hopes to welcome you to the Parc des Princes as soon as possible.

PSG supporters perhaps remember Rodriguez best since 1999, when the attacker struck a decisive 2-1 hit on the bloody enemy Marseille’s network. In those days, long before the billions of Qatarians came to Paris, Marseille had a clearly stronger and more successful football power than the two.

During his career, Rodriguez played for several French clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Ajaccio and Metz.

He represented Metz in the 1998/99 season, when HJK memorized the club in the Champions League qualifiers and advanced to the UCL qualifiers. Rodriguez was not in the line-up in either of the Club Match matches.
