Among other things, the offspring of the Left Party want to expropriate all supermarkets. The program points to a dangerous radicalization that must be taken seriously, says Gunnar Schupelius.
In politics you don’t have to weigh every word on the gold scales and the parties are known for provoking their offspring with radical demands. But what the “Left Youth”, i.e. the offspring of the Left Party, has now done exceeds the limit of what is bearable.
At their state assembly on April 10, the young left-wing politicians made one absurd and confused decision after the other. In general, they were “fully committed” to “the socialist program of expropriation”.
Specifically, it sounds like this, for example: “The complete socialization (…) of all supermarkets and food production is our goal.” This is the only way to “guarantee a fair and needs-based distribution of food”. Apartments in Berlin should first be built “on land owned by multi-millionaires in order to counteract the social imbalance (…)”.
The young left-wingers also know what they want in terms of foreign policy, namely “smash Nato”, impose “no sanctions” on Russia and “expropriation not only of Russian but also of German and all other oligarchs and super-rich”.
Who exactly do they mean by that, they don’t say: It should be “expropriated without compensation”, of that they are sure. However, as is well known, this can only be done with violence.

In addition, the left-wing youth decided to say “No to the EU”. As the only argument for this, she quotes Soviet founder Lenin as saying: “The United States of Europe is either impossible or reactionary under capitalist conditions.”
Finally, the young left-wing pledged not to speak to journalists from BZ, BILD and WELT and demanded that their entire party “no longer work directly with the bourgeois parties, especially the B90/Greens, SPD or their youth organizations.” .
Can one ignore this mixture of political extremism, intolerance and megalomania with regard to age? No of course not.
The left wants to help shape and does so. So you have to take them seriously. In the elections on September 26, she won 14.1 percent of the vote and sent 24 representatives to the House of Representatives. In the Senate, she provides the senators Klaus Lederer (culture), Katja Kipping (social affairs) and Lena Kreck (justice). The left sits at the levers of power.
Does she want to pass this power on to people who are so intolerant that they don’t even want to talk to their political opponents, in other words, who trample on the rules of democracy?
We are witnessing a really dangerous radicalization in the left, whose leadership is silent on the content and does not teach their offspring how to behave democratically. And the many guardians of democracy who look very closely at the AfD, but not here, are also silent.
The Left Youth leaves the democratic consensus. We cannot accept that.
