I saw the amount Roope Rätyvice president of the supporter’s association Eteläpääty ry, probably the Thursday mood of most joker fans.
– This is a really difficult moment for every joker fan. It doesn’t help but to hope for a better future and to be involved in building it as well.
The league announced Thursday in the bulletinthat no new league licenses will be granted for the 2023–24 season.
– I had understood from the League’s previous results that there is time (to apply for a license) until the end of October, Räty wonders.
– The League has completely turned its head quite quickly. I had a different picture of how the League felt about the Jokers. I hope they know what they are doing.
“Painted in the media”
Jokers were visibly brought to the League by Naurava Narri oy, whose front images appeared Keijo Säilynoja and Teemu Selänne. Laughing Jester left the scene a couple of weeks ago.
Another background group, more faceless and mystical, has been connected Joel Harkimo.
– Joel Harkimo’s role has been painted in the media, Räty sees.
– At least I haven’t gotten the impression that he has any official role.
The rights of the Jokers are managed by the association, which has remained silent and appeared only with a few short announcements.
– Could you have been more open about these issues? Räty asks.
– In many places, it is now time to look in the mirror.
“It doesn’t depend on the series”
The Joker’s representative team may end up looking for league speed from Mestis. The people of Eteläpätty are ready for that too.
– Jokers are followed and supported. It doesn’t depend on any series, Räty informs.
– Now, however, we first have to take a moment and have discussions with different parties about how to move forward from this.
