The lawsuit was not in vain!

In the dispute over exposed breasts in a Berlin water playground, Gabrielle Lebreton (38) unsuccessfully sued the state of Berlin. The comment from BZ editor Isabel Pfannkuche.

The Berliner Gabrielle Lebreton (38) has demanded compensation of 10,000 euros from the state of Berlin for the topless ban – clearly exaggerated. In the judgment, of course, the plaintiff should not have been awarded the full amount.

But has the state of Berlin actually done anything wrong? The Berlin police supported the security personnel at the Plansche water playground. She followed a tip from other visitors who had complained about the bare breasts.

And this is where the real scandal lies: We live in the 21st century and there are still people who are so upset about a woman’s breast that they even go to security.

The state of Berlin does not have to bleed for this narrow-mindedness. The lawsuit made sense nonetheless: it sparked a discussion.
