Felipe VI will visit Barcelona next Monday to hold meetings with various institutions and companies. The hearings will take place at the Albéniz Palace, and, within this framework, the King is scheduled to meet at 12 noon with the mayor of the Catalan capital, Jaume Collboni. Before the parenthesis of the governments of Xavier Trias and Ada Colauthe last audience reception of a king to the mayor of Barcelona dates back to 2006, in a meeting between Juan Carlos I and Jordi Hereu.
In fact, it was Collboni, as first deputy mayor, who maintained institutional ties with the Royal House in Colau’s last term, who stood up to Felipe VI at some official events. The now mayor also visited Zarzuela privately during those years.

On Monday, the King will start the day by receiving the executive committee of SEAT, after which it will be the turn of the new mayor of Barcelona. He will then meet with the president of Emirates Team New Zealand (ETNZ) and America’s Cup Event (ACE) Barcelona, Grant Dalton. Felipe VI also plans hold an audience with the Spanish artistic swimming team and the men’s and women’s water polo teams who have participated in the recent world swimming championships in Fukuoka (Japan).
This is the second time this year that Don Felipe has held audiences at Palacio Albéniz, his official residence in Barcelona. He already did it last June, when he received two representatives of the Freixenet Group, the Círculo Ecuestre, the CEDE Foundation-Spanish Confederation of Directors and Executives and the Fira de Barcelonareports Europa Press.
