With the words “Santa Claus has a brand new song in his sack. Merry Christmas!” the Killers contacted their fans shortly before the end of the year and gave them a Christmas present. On Instagram they surprisingly share a song that is reminiscent of their early years. However, the track is currently only published on social media and is not yet available on streaming platforms.
The rock band has not yet announced the title. But look at the comments under hers Instagram post on, it doesn’t seem to bother her loyal followers too much. The four-minute, guitar-driven piece is inspired by New Wave and Gothic and is quite well received. One person wrote under their post: “Great song that gets into my teen goth soul and wraps it in dark velvet 🎶🖤🕸️🦇🖤🎶.” Better & better with every listen.” Someone else says: “And I thought you guys couldn’t get any better… But you did it! 😍”.

The latest release follows an interview from singer Brandon Flowers, who recently told “NME“ explained how he imagines the musical future of the Killers. He emphasized that he wanted to move towards guitar music, rock ‘n’ roll and Americana “to stay more authentic”.
Flowers also reflected on his career and the recently released greatest hits record Rule Diamonds, saying he’s still his own toughest critic, but at the same time proud of how the band has evolved over the years. The record is the group’s eighth number one album in the UK charts – and their biggest hit “Mr. “Brightside” was recently named the most streamed song in Spotify UK history.
