The Kick-off of Friday 22 April with Henk ten Cate and Frans Thijssen

Erik ten Hag’s move to Manchester United, the upcoming promotion of FC Volendam and the unofficial debut of Lionel Messi at Barcelona. These topics are discussed in our football talk show De Aftrap where former coach Henk Ten Cate and 14-time international Frans Thijssen are guests.

Ten Cate, Frank Rijkaard’s assistant at Barcelona between 2003 and 2006, talks about the performance of the then 16-year-old Messi in a practice match against FC Porto. Thijssen has fond memories of his time at Ipswich Town. At the time, Ipswich did not become champion of the Premier League, but in 1981 Thijssen took the UEFA Cup with Arnold Mühren at the expense of AZ’67.

Erik-Jan Brinkman meets Kees Tol in our weekly game of street foot golf. The Volendam TV presenter is not a football fan, but takes on the battle with full dedication. We end the broadcast with our own team FC De Aftrap.

Next week, Jack Spijkerman and Evert ten Napel will be guests. Former AZ football player Nick van der Velden then plays street football. Questions and comments can be emailed to [email protected]
