Kentucky Cake
150 g of fat
3 dl sugar
3 eggs
4.5 dl wheat flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1.5 teaspoons of milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar
1 dl ground almonds
Icing:
75 g of butter
0.75 dl of whipped cream
2 tablespoons of sugar
300 g powdered sugar

1. Whip the soft fat and sugar until frothy.
2. Add the eggs to the foam one by one, beating well.
3. Mix the dry ingredients together and add the flour mixture to the dough. Mix until smooth.
4. Finally, add milk and almonds and mix.
5. Pour the dough into a greased and breadcrumbed ring tin (1.4 l).
6. Bake on the lower level of the oven at 175 degrees for about an hour.
7. Prepare the frosting while the cake is in the oven. Start by roasting the sugar in a steel pan until brown. Be careful not to burn the sugar.
8. Add butter to the melted sugar and mix and let it boil.
9. Add the cream and boil again quickly.
10. Finally, add powdered sugar and mix until smooth.
11. Allow the frosting to cool so that it becomes firmer.
12. When the frosting is thick, but still somewhat runny, pour it over the cake. Decorate, for example, with snowflake sprinkles.
