Kalajoki’s midsummer festival combining music and cars was unexpectedly canceled while the event was still running. Midsummer’s Day was supposed to culminate with a performance by artists such as rapper Kube, but the evening’s performances were suddenly cancelled.
The event organizer of the festival confirms to Iltalehti that the event had to be canceled at six on Midsummer’s Day. The public had to leave the area at that time and the structures in the area began to be demolished immediately.
According to the event organizer, the reason for the cancellation was disagreements over the festival’s stage. According to the organizer, the company that acquired the stage started demanding the last installment of the stage in cash in the middle of the event.
– It is wrong to interrupt and demand in the middle of everything, says the disappointed festival organizer.
According to the organizer, he did his best so that the festivals could have continued. According to him, the solutions he offered did not seem suitable for the company, but the organizer should have signed the promissory note.
The organizer did not agree to that, so the event had to be ended ahead of time.
– Now we ended up canceling the event, because we want to be responsible for all the entrepreneurs who are involved. It was necessary to reduce the financial risks, commented the organizer who works with cars.
– I’m sorry that this happened, the organizer working as an entrepreneur regrets.
The organizer says that he is upset and sorry that his long-term work with the festival came to a sad end for both the entrepreneurs and the audience.
The previous day had been promising, but according to the organizer, Saturday ended with the demands of another company.
