A judge has left freedom with precautionary measuressuch as the withdrawal of the passport, 19 year old who was arrested yesterday accused of steal about 600 meters of fiber optic cablewhich caused the cCollapse on the Madrid-Barcelona-Figueres high-speed line and affected thousands of passengers.
According to sources close to the case, a judge in El Vendrell (Tarragona) has agreed to provisional release for the detainee, in an open case for havoc and damage, and has imposed as precautionary measures the withdrawal of his passport, the prohibition of leave Spain and the obligation to go to court weekly.
The theft of some 600 meters of fiber optic cable caused this Monday morning the collapse of the Madrid-Barcelona-Figueres high-speed line, which was inoperative for five hours and affected thousands of passengers, with delays that lasted for the afternoon.

The Mossos d’Esquadra arrested this young man in the municipality of Santa Oliva (Tarragona) and related him to cable theft, since they surprised him in an area of tracks and were able to recover part of the stolen material.
The detainee has passed this Tuesday to judicial disposition in the court of El Vendrell and has been released with charges, in a case for havoc and damage.
