Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift have been friends for years. Earlier this week, Sheeran announced that he would be releasing a song with Swift. Fans had long speculated about a collaboration between the two superstars. Now there is the song “The Joker and the Queen” in the stream – music video for the single included.
The Joker and the Queen was previously released on Sheeran’s Fall 2021 album =. Even then he wanted to win Taylor Swift for the vocal part. It probably took a while before the two found the opportunity to record the single together. Now the song is finally available as a duet version with the pop singer.
It is not the first collaboration for the two musicians. The two collaborated on Swift’s song “Everything Has Changed” in 2012. It was followed by “End Game” in 2017 and last year’s single “Run (Taylor’s Version)”.
A new music video was also released with the single. Directed by Emil Nova, who Sheeran has worked with several times in the past. Fans of the singer can look forward to the video, which features a reunion with the cast from the 2012 video for Everything Has Changed. The video follows the coming-of-age story of Ava and Jack, now 18, as they begin their studies at university. Here you can see the video:
Just last weekend, the singer was honored with the award for “Songwriter of the Year” at the Brit Awards. From April, Ed Sheeran will also be touring Europe with his “+ – = ÷ x” tour, which will also take him to Germany in July and September. For the concerts in Gelsenkirchen, Munich, and Frankfurt, there are now two more additional concerts each.
