The Jesus And Mary Chain announce new album & share first single

The Jesus And Mary Chain have announced the release of a new album for March 8th, 2024. The work will be called “Glasgow Eyes” and will be released via Fuzz Club. Together with the LP news, the duo also released a new single and music video. “jamcod” is a classic, dark track for brothers Jim and William Reid that fits easily into the band’s 39-year history.

The new album was recorded at Mogwai’s studio, Castle of Doom, in Glasgow. The siblings began working on it quickly after completing the recording of 2017’s “Damage and Joy.” They incorporated their love of Suicide, Kraftwerk, but also jazz. Jim Reid says in the press release: “But don’t expect ‘The Mary Chain goes Jazz’. People should expect a Jesus and Mary Chain album, and that’s exactly what Glasgow Eyes is. Our creative approach is remarkably the same as in 1984: just go into the studio and see what happens. We went in with a bunch of songs and let it run its course. There are no rules, you just do what is necessary. And there’s a telepathy there – we’re these weird, not-quite-right twins finishing each other’s sentences.”
