Six jerseys worn by Argentinian star football player Lionel Messi, who plays for Inter Miami, one of the American 1st Football League (MLS) teams, in the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be auctioned.
According to the statement made by Sotheby’s, one of the world’s most important auction companies, the 6 jerseys worn by the 36-year-old player, who played the leading role in Argentina winning the cup, during the tournament will be auctioned as a set in New York.
Messi jerseys are expected to be sold for over £8 million.
The jersey worn by Diego Maradona in the quarter-final match between Argentina and England in the 1986 FIFA World Cup and put up for sale under the name “Hand of God”, dedicated to the goal he scored with his hand, was sold at a record price of 7.1 million pounds.
