The Issue: Should there eventually be an asylum stop? | The matter

Frank Candel, chairman of the Council for Refugees, argues that the Netherlands already receives relatively few asylum seekers compared to other countries, and that we are bound by treaties. And: “Fleeing is often a matter of life or death.” Malkis Jajan, party leader of the VVD Enschede, is in favor of an asylum stop, because it is not humane to have people wait for decades for a rented house.

And what do you think? Should there eventually be an asylum stop? If so, what should this look like? If not, how do we solve the problems with the influx of asylum seekers? Let me know in the comments!
