S.and you’re predisposed to suspense, tonight’s worth not missing out on Rai 2 (at 9.20pm) the psychological thriller The intruder with a Dennis Quaid not very reassuring. Do you remember him an affectionate father and willing to do anything to save his son (Jake Gyllenhaal) in the catastrophic The dawn of the next day? Here, in the film by Deon Taylor has very different intentions and attentions towards the couple to whom he sells his beautiful house surrounded by the greenery of Napa Valleyin California.
The intruder: the plot
Scott (Michael Ealy) e Annie (Meagan Good) are a married couple who decide to move from the noisy city to the quiet countryside of Napa Vallery. Here they find a splendid house complete with adjoining land to buy. The game is done, the dream comes true. The owner is a certain Charlie (Dennis Quaid), a widower intending to move to Florida with his daughter.
In reality Charlie he never leaves that house, he moves to a nearby hotel and begins appear occasionally in his former homepaying some attention to Annie. As the days go by then it becomes more and more intrusiveand while something decidedly diabolical is whirling in his head the Russell’s life becomes a drama.
Dennis Quaid looks to Jack Nicholson
Charlie hides a dark past. What happened to his family really? The man intends to get back the sold property, without himself and without but. And he will be willing to do anything, even to kill. Annie and Scott they will have to defend themselves from crazy played by a Dennis Quaid that makes the verse to the Jack Nicholson of Shining: he also tries to show his crazy grin.
You will discover it outside yourselfunrestrained, and ready to challenge axes and double-barreled rifles to get what he made. There is also a scene complete with door torn open with a large knife and Charlie yelling: “Annieee“. Does it remind you of anyone? Don’t expect Jack Torrance’s Shining, but a thriller that will make you entertain and remain in suspense on a summer evening in 2022 that is likely.
Quaid’s next challenge? Ronald Reagan
We met him in the mythical Leap in the dark by Joe Dante, then he won us over with Traffic by Steven Soderberg and with Away from heaven by Todd Haynes and obviously with the aforementioned The dawn of the next day. We will soon see him in the role of Ronald Reaganin the biopic about the 40th President of the United States.
It is probably the most important challenge of his career. The film will run through Reagan’s lifefrom a child to a Hollywood actor to President, to the last years of his life.
