The International Labor Organization (ILO) suspended technical cooperation with Russia in connection with the situation in Ukraine, the corresponding resolution was supported by 42 voters out of 52, should from a document on the ILO website.

According to resolutionsthe ILO will temporarily suspend “technical cooperation or organization assistance to Russia, with the exception of humanitarian assistance, until a ceasefire has been agreed and a peaceful settlement has been implemented.”

Deputy head of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR) Alexander Shershukov reported TASSthat such a decision by the ILO will not affect the rights of workers in Russia. “You need to understand that those ILO conventions that were ratified by the Russian Federation, they do not stop their work, and the rights from this point of view of workers in our country, they will also be protected under the conventions,” Shershukov said.

He suggested that due to the suspension of cooperation, the program of cooperation between the ILO and Russia for 2021-2024, signed in 2020, may change. Shershukov expressed hope that in the future partnership with the ILO will be restored.
