It did not happen by itself, but fortunately, Minister Ernst Kuipers of Public Health decided on Monday to concentrate pediatric heart surgery in Groningen and Rotterdam. This prevents acute care in the Northern Netherlands from being stripped down further. The UMCG and many political administrative centers in the North breathe a sigh of relief.
