The Catalan club Girona has cheered up the entire Spanish league.
The minor club, which only returned to the main league in the spring of 2022, has bullied its bigger ones throughout the beginning of the season. It was at the top of the league for a long time, which made many people question the reasons for its success.
The answer can be found in the background of the club. Chairman Family Guardiola is the younger brother of a famous football manager, and the connections to Manchester City are very strong anyway.
Both clubs belong to the City Football Group from Abu Dhabi.
That, in turn, has benefited small clubs like Girona, which are able to offer young players a challenging playing environment and excellent coaching.
It is descriptive that the team’s brightest star, the brass striker Saviois officially a player for the French club Troyes.
Troyes is sacrificed
The football area of the Champagne province is also part of the Persian Gulf football empire, but it is only used as a parking lot for players looking for a better club.
City Football Group has deprived Troyes of the three most expensive players in its history and placed them in other branches of the chain. The club is in great danger of falling into the triple divar.
Girona’s luck is that it plays enough hard and developing games with continuous passing. The 19-year-old Sávio’s path will soon lead to the brightest lights, because Girona is unable to pay the salary of the goalscorer who is knocking on the gates of the Brazil A national team.
Of course, the teenager’s earnings come directly from the main owner’s bottomless coffers.

You left it later
Orihuela is better known as the cradle of Spanish poetry, and its futsal club only plays in the fourth highest level. It is therefore very likely that Girona will continue to the next round with reasonable ease.

The peculiarity of the Spanish Cup is that the team below the league level always gets the home advantage, except in the semi-finals, which are played in two parts (home and away).
In the first round, Girona also narrowly defeated the fourth team San Roque de Lepe 2–1.
The giant Spanish clubs Real Madrid (defending cup champion), Barcelona (league champion), Atlético (third in the league) and Osasuna (cup finalist) jump directly to the third round of the Cup.

The Spanish Football Federation has given them an exemption because they will collect money for the organization’s coffers during the Supercup tournament to be played in Saudi Arabia in mid-January.
However, the third round of the Cup is marked to be played just before the trip to the Persian Gulf (January 6–7, 2024). Then the giants are also included in the raffle baskets.
