The hunt for old Hoogeveen photos is on: Young people are digitizing old snapshots in residential care centers

The students of the Alfa College are visiting Olden Kinholt for the second time this afternoon for this purpose. And the elderly are happy that they can tell their stories with the snapshots from their photo albums, which are open on the tables in the lavishly heated meeting room. The young generation listens carefully to what the older generation has to say and records the stories on the iPads they have received from the organization. But not only that, photos you bring with you are also scanned on site and thus safeguarded for the Historical Circle.

Record in app

The elderly watch in admiration as the young people digitally process the stories about the slower times of horse and carriage with skill and at the speed of light. A special program has been installed on the iPad that can make blurry photos sharper and black-and-white copies can be colored – on request. The photos and information are recorded in an app.
