MERCEDES SEES IT IMPOSSIBLE
Yesterday’s pole position was great news for Hamilton and Mercedes. However, a battle with Red Bull at one lap is not the same as at 70. In Mercedes they see it as impossible to win at the Hungaroring: “Win? No, sure. Max’s long runs on this circuit are from another planet,” Toto Wolff said yesterday.
ALONSO AND SAINZ, ON THE GRILL
Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz have already placed their Aston Martin and Ferrari on the grid area. Time to rest and concentrate before the moment of truth arrives.
Try Hamilton over and over again a simulated pit lane start. The Briton leaves first today and does not want to let his position slip away at the first opportunity. Max Verstappen will be on the lookout.
SAINZ, CONFIDENT
Carlos Sainz, in the previous one: “Yesterday’s Qualifying is over. My mind is set on how to come back. The race will not be easy with the heat and with the degradation, and on a circuit where it is also not easy to overtake. If we do things right we can have a good race”.

Alonso, in the qualifying round: “It’s going to be a difficult race, it’s not easy to overtake here. We started eighth and we’ll try to climb some position. It will be a race with a lot of patience, let’s see how many points we can score”.
PIT LANE OPEN!
The single-seaters are out on the track. The drivers can take their first laps, always going through the pit lane, to analyze the track and get a feel for it before placing the cars on the grid area.
ALONSO, CRITICAL
The Spaniard was very critical of the new qualifying format yesterday: “It’s horrible, for me. I don’t think I’ve added much today. People want to see a classification where everyone starts fast and progresses during the sessions, but paying an entry fee of 300 or 500 euros, atrocities like that, and then we can’t start in free practice to save tires, I don’t think that’s what F1 wants. You have to try and learn from your mistakes, of course, but I wouldn’t vote for that format.”
“I’m happy with the time trial and with the car, but now everything is very tight in the upper area, it is what it is and tomorrow we will try to come back,” he stressed about his eighth position.
There is less left for the Hungarian Grand Prix to start, a race that will start at 3:00 p.m. CET. In recent editions, it has had an average duration that oscillates between 1h 30 min and 1h 45 min, a circuit in which it is common to see a ‘safety car’ that completely changes the order established between pilots. 70 laps of pure emotion await us!
THE KING OF HUNGARY
It is no coincidence that Lewis Hamilton starts from pole position in the Huingría GP, and the fact is that the Hungaroring circuit works wonders for the British driver. He has won 8 pole positions and has won 8 times in this Grand Prix. also has the lap record with 1:16.627, milestone achieved in 2020. The track has a total length of 4,381 km.
THIS IS HOW THE GRILL LOOKS LIKE
This will be the starting order for the next Hungarian Grand Prix. Hamilton’s pole position above Verstappen, the great position of the two McLarens and the absence of any Ferrari or Aston Martin in the top 5 stand out. George Russell falls to eighteenth position.
HAMILTON, ON POLE
Hamilton was the best in the qualifying phase achieving a time of 1:16:609 that it has earned him to get hold of the Hungarian GP pole position. The Briton will come out ahead of max verstappen and Lando Norris. In fourth place we will have another McLaren, the one from Oscar Piastriand in the fifth will be the Chinese pilot zhou.
WHERE WILL THE SPANIARDS COME FROM?
The Spanish riders did not get a good result in qualifying, as they both fell out of the top 5. Fernando Alonso will start from the eighth positionahead of Checho Pérez’s Red Bull, while Carlos Sainz will start from the eleventh position.
