The house of Vrouw Holle returns to the Efteling

The house of Vrouw Holle returns to the Efteling after two years. The work will start in April, the amusement park announced on Friday evening.

The house was demolished at the end of 2019 because it was quite worn. Initially, it was intended that the house would be rebuilt after the frost period in 2020. And then came the corona crisis.

Due to the pandemic, the Efteling had to stop and the construction of the house was put on hold. Now that the corona crisis is largely behind us, the house can also be rebuilt.

Before the old house was demolished, a 3D scan was made. That is why an almost identical house can be rebuilt. “However, this new house must comply with current building regulations. For example, we need to raise the door opening slightly and the size of the window frames changes slightly. But the atmosphere remains the same,” says project leader Mark Elings.

The work will start in April. In the winter, the house must be completely ready.
