The history of beach exploitation in Zeebrugge

In this episode, Charlotte is looking for an answer to the question: what did beach exploitation look like in Zeebrugge in the past?

About 100 years ago there was little more than a beach and a row of dunes where the port of Zeebrugge is now located. Monique started the Zeebrugge beach exploitation somewhere in the 1970s. The drink was then specially for the sunbathers obtained from the catering industry on the seawall!
Zeebrugge has a quiet and beautiful beach just south of the seaport. It is officially the largest beach on the coast. In total it is about 1.5 km long and 500 meters wide.
