The highlights with Katy Perry, Take That and Lionel Richie

For the first time in the history of the British royal family, a coronation concert took place: A large open-air stage and screens were set up in front of Windsor Castle. King Charles, Queen Camilla and other members of the royal family took their seats on a stage to watch the stars perform. In addition, 20,000 spectators had the opportunity to experience the spectacle live.

Coronation Concert: Performances by Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and more

Katy Perry stressed her close relationship with the royal as the two work together for the Prince’s Asian Trust. She performed her hit “Roar” in a unique orchestral performance:

Lionel Richie is the first global ambassador for the Prince’s Trust and has been helping young people for over five decades.

Other artists were Andrea Bocelli and Bryn Terfel, the pianist Lang Lang with singer Nicole Scherzinger, Paloma Faith, but also the British group Take That. Alexis Ffrench sang the Simple Minds song “Don’t You Forget About Me”.

The organizers of the concert endeavored to include performers from across the Commonwealth. So a chorus was assembled from groups from all over the world, which was heard by Steve Winwood interpreting his hit “Higher Love”. A special highlight was the light show operated by drones, which provided a visual spectacle in the surrounding nature.
