Abdul Ismilo and Dzalav Magomedov caught the speeder who ran over a cyclist and fled. They are now telling the story in the BZ.
The devastating rampage on the Kudamm, in which a teacher had to die and so many students were critically injured, was only two days ago.
Abdul Ismilo and Dzalav Magomedov (both 24) still had the horrifying images in their minds.
Shortly after 8 p.m. on Friday evening, they witnessed a speeder (34) run over a cyclist on Alexanderstrasse (middle) and simply left her lying there. The 32-year-old suffered serious head and shoulder injuries.

The two friends drove after him – and grabbed him at the corner of Greifswalder and Hufelandstrasse (Prenzlauer Berg). Now the heroes of Alex tell the whole story.
Family man Abdul: “I heard a loud bang and saw in the rear-view mirror that a woman had been thrown onto the road. The black accident Mercedes just drove on.”

Dzalav says: “At first I thought of an attack like that at Breitscheidplatz.” Shocked, he called out to Abdul: “Maybe he wants to bypass even more people!”
The two, who come from the Russian Republic of Dagestan, reacted immediately: “We’ll take care of him. Follow along!” Abdul accelerated and attached himself to the Mercedes. The hunt went two kilometers along Greifswalder Strasse.
Then the accident driver was slowed down by a construction site. Only one lane instead of two. The chance for the two pursuers: “He was stuck, we were able to sit in front of him.”
Abdul, almost 1.90 meters tall and strong, jumped out of the car and hit the driver’s side with the palm of his hand: “Besides the driver, there were three men in the vehicle. All drunk. Beer bottles were lying on the floor.”
The driver explained to Abdul that he had not seen the accident. His eyes were black. He took tramadol. An opioid pain reliever.
The police were there five minutes later. And arrested the speeder who comes from the Republic of Moldova.
