Gary Oldman is not happy with his performance in the Harry Potter films.

Oldman played the titular character Harry Potter’s godfather Sirius Black in the films. Happy Sad Confused -podcast, Oldman, who was recently interviewed, describes his performance as “mediocre”.
– Maybe if I had read the books like that Alan (Rickman), if I had been one step ahead, if I had known what was coming, I think I would have played the role differently, Oldman says in the podcast.

Alan Rickman, who played Severus Snape, was reportedly the only one of the Potter actors who knew the ending of the story even before the last book came out.
Oldman says that he is usually critical of his own role performances.
– If I looked at my own role and thought I was great, it would be a sad day. I always want the next one to be better.

In the podcast, Oldman also talks about, among other things, the most difficult scene in his career, which is also related Harry Potter to the movies.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in the movie Sirius is seen lying on the ground by an icy pond and the beggar is sucking the character’s soul out of his mouth.
– Filming it took forever. It was slow. They built a pond inside the studio and froze it, and I had to lie in it for a week doing nothing.

The character of Sirius was first seen in the third part of the series. The character died in the fifth volume.
– They killed me too soon. I’m still upset about that, Oldman jokes.
Harry Potter -films are based on by JK Rowling to the book series. Seven books were published between 1997 and 2007. The eight films based on them were released between 2001 and 2011.
