The handball players from Oosting E&O/Hurry-Up fought to the end in the quarter-finals of the cup against the second team from Aalsmeer on Wednesday evening, but lost 37-36.
Goalkeeper Sjoerd Grit kept the combination team, with players from Emmen and Zwartemeer, in the match in the absolute final phase with a great save. E&O/Hurry-Up was allowed to attack once more with only a few seconds left on the clock at 37-36. That resulted in a final free throw, which had to be thrown immediately at the Aalsmeer goal. Sverre Jansen shot hard, but on the outside post.
As a result, the visitors did not get the much-needed equalizer and extra time. Aalsmeer 2 won and celebrated the victory exuberantly, shouting and shouting. Just like on Tuesday, the team had advanced to the semi-finals of the cup tournament against the main force of the North Hollanders.
E&O/Hurry-Up cannot be shaken off
