Last summer, Grill Room from Hankasalmi was voted the best hamburger restaurant in Finland in the Burger Lovers community.
Now Grill Room opens a summer restaurant in Helsinki in the slaughterhouse area.
It can be said that the Grill Room, which opened in 2022, has already risen to a cult form. As summer weekends, sometimes you have to queue up to the restaurant for up to several hours. The Grill Room has become known for the traffic light next to the door. From there, the customer can quickly see the length of the queuing time.
Entrepreneur Joni Laitila Laughs to Iltalehti that traffic lights have also been considered in Helsinki.
– The traffic lights could also be completed in Helsinki, Laitila says, even though he still does not want to evaluate the lengths of future queues.

All hamburgers in Grill Room have Smash steaks. The most popular portions are Classic and the bad guy.
In order to eat as good burgers in Helsinki as in Hankasalmi, Helsinki staff will come to work in Hankasalmi for the spring and at the beginning of the opening, Laitila is working in Helsinki.
Helsinki Grill Room rolls are likely to be baked in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area Bakery with the same recipe as in Hankasalmi. No decision has yet been made on the bakery.
– Our roll is not the main role of the hamburger. It is soft and absorbs comfortably hamburger fluids. It is brioche, but not traditional. It has less sugar than normal, Laitila says.

Helsinki’s Grill Room opens at the slaughterhouse at the time of Vapu. Laitila advises that there are still a few jobs without filling.
According to Laitila, the restaurant is open until the harbor starts in the autumn.
The coming summer will show whether there would be a demand for Grill Rome in Helsinki all year old.
