RoddelPraat star Jan Roos is perplexed by Johan Derksen’s allegations that he profits from a “depraved business model.” Roos has taken a week to ponder Derksen’s accusation, finding it rather strange.

Johan Derksen finds it incomprehensible that his podcast partner Henk Kuipers recently appeared on RoddelPraat, a notorious gossip show hosted by Dennis Schouten and Jan Roos. According to Derksen, such a platform is not one that should be embraced.
The Accusation of Depravity
Derksen has expressed his concerns about Schouten and Roos’s business model, labeling it as “depraved.” He states that by allowing publicity-sensitive figures to be interviewed—which generates significant viewers—they are indirectly partaking in a system that ultimately profits from sensationalism.
Henk Kuipers contends that he approached the discussions critically, but Derksen disagrees. “Yes, you were critical,” Johan acknowledges, “but I still find it bewildering that you chose to join them.”
Jan’s Response
In a response on RoddelPraat, Roos finds Derksen’s remarks puzzling. He suggests that Derksen may be on the attack again and brings up a lasting concern about what constitutes a “depraved” business model. Roos questions, “What is Johan’s revenue model? Isn’t it just spouting nonsense? And doesn’t his boss, John de Mol, also produce a lot of trash just to earn money?”
Real News vs. Old Opinions
Dennis Schouten argues that Johan ought to show them some respect, emphasizing that they are actually delivering original news. He points out that their latest footage about Wilfred Genee’s alleged affairs marks new revelations, in contrast to Derksen who often revisits the same topics and opinions repeatedly.
Roos concludes passionately, “What we’re doing deserves recognition. This could easily earn us a Nipkow Disk! What we’re delivering is journalism, Johan!”
